This is a nice example of a rare early WWII German Luger as manufactured at the Mauser factory in 1934. The maker and date markings were coded to obscure the extent of the German rearmament. Fixed sights, with "K" on the chamber and "S/42" on the toggle, "eagle/ 63" and "droop-wing eagle" proofs on the barrel and extension, matching numbers on the barrel, frame, extension, latch, side plate (renumbered), trigger, sear, safety, magazine catch and toggle parts. Checkered hardwood grips, with aluminum based blue magazine renumbered to gun.

Very good as lightly cleaned, with 40% of the blue finish, the remainder turning a brown and gray patina. Most of the blue is visible on the back of the frame and in the protected areas, with some handling marks and signs of cleaning. Grips are good, with a chip in the upper rear corner near the safety and mild dents. Action is very good.
