Description:

Most well known for their knife pistols, Unwin & Rodgers was listed in the directories as "merchants and manufacturers of pen, pocket, desk, fruit, & self-defence knives; razors, lancets, pen machines, etc", with this particular blade produced in the Civil War era Five and 3/4" blade, scroll etched with "SURE DEFENCE" on the left side of the blade and "UNWIN &/ RODGERS/ SHEFFIELD" on the left ricasso. Silver oval crossguard, with a stamped wavy pattern on the collar and raised floral designs on the silver hilt bracketing the one piece smooth mother of pearl grip. Pebbled black leather sheath, with silver throat and tip and gold borders and decorative scrolls.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with some mild pitting and wear on the blade, a fine mixed patina on the silver, minor dents on the leather and a few tiny chips on the otherwise excellent grip.
