Description:

Flag is just over 20 inches tall by 33 1/2 inches wide, frame is 26 by 38 inches. The white stripe is approximately 7 inches tall; two red stripes are approximately 6 inches tall. The blue is 13 1/2 by 13 7/8 inches with ten five pointed stars around a central star. The small stars are somewhat uniform in shape at about 2 inches each; the central star is approximately 3 inches. The seams are all single stitched. The flag is stenciled in black with the dates "*1861*" and "*1865*" on the right and left of the central star. The small red stripe says "* NASHVILLE* / *SHILOH*", the white strip says "*21 st.* / *MISSISSIPPI* / *CO. D*" and the large red stripe says "IN HONOR OF / *OUR* / *BRAVE MEN*" and "*CHATTANOOGA* / *CHICKAMAUGA*". The large red stripe also has a "30" stenciled at the right edge on its side. This flag has ten stars (one more than the 1st National Confederate Flag of nine and less than the eleventh star for Tennessee).

Rating Definition:

Very fragile. There are numerous holes and fraying on the edges. The colors are faded but still have remnants of original color. A great piece of American History.
