This is a late post war Model 49 semi-automatic rifle as produced by FN Herstal for Venezuela. This was the first successful attempt by FNH to produce a semi-automatic rifle after WWII. This rifle has the Venezuelan crest on the receiver ring. The right side of the receiver is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D' ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE" and the serial number. The pistol grip stock and handguard are walnut and the stock is fitted with a partially serrated bright metal buttplate. It has a tangent rear sight, a blade front sight with side protectors, grooved flash hider, bayonet lug mounted on the bottom of the barrel and detachable magazine. Complete with leather sling and bayonet, (mismatched) with scabbard.

Excellent. The rifle retains 98% original finish with loose limited to the muzzle end of the barrel from putting the bayonet on and off. The stock and hand guard are excellent overall with a few minor to near moderate pressure dents on the stock, otherwise only minor handling marks. The sling is very good with some minor wear. The bayonet and scabbard are very good with a few minor pressured dents in the handle. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
