This is an excellent example of one of the better made WWII German single shot training rifles. The Anschutz company has a long history of making high quality military and hunting rifles for well over 150 years. That same level of craftsmanship is easily recognized in even these WWII training rifles. This specific rifle is the "KKW" pattern that was made to duplicate the actual feel and functioning of the standard WWII K98 rifle. The top of the receiver ring is marked with encircled factory "JGA" logo. The top of the rear section of the barrel is marked J.G. Anschutz/Germaniawaffenwerke A.G. Zella- Mehlis/Thur" with the rear receiver ring marked "JGA/Wehrsportkarabiner/Kal 4mm lang". It has the standard inverted "v" front sight with the military style tangent rear sight that is marked for 10 meters only since the caliber is 4MM. It has the early "H" pattern front barrel band with the milled lower barrel band and trigger guard. It is fitted with the correct one-piece walnut stock and hand guard and an original WWII leather sling. It is complete with the cleaning rod, a late pattern K98 bayonet, scabbard and frog. The bayonet is marked "cof44".

Excellent overall with 98% of the original WWII blued finish with slight edge and high spot wear overall. The front barrel band exhibits an old professional refinish and has taken on a dull aged appearance. The butt stock and hand guard are in excellent condition with minimal handling marks form use. The bayonet and scabbard show 98% of the original blue and the leather frog is also in excellent condition.
