This is an example of a "S" code Luftwaffe Krieghoff P.08 with two matching magazines and Luftwaffe inspected holster. Krieghoff, Waffenfabrik at Suhl, Germany manufactured P.08 pistols for the Luftwaffe from 1935-45. Although the Krieghoff P.08 was not the only pistol issued by the Luftwaffe it was the only pistol that was officially inspected, accepted and proof-marked by the Luftwaffe. Total production of Krieghoff Luftwaffe P.08s was about 12,200 pistols. The pistol has the distinctive Krieghoff blue finish with straw colored trigger, take-down lever and safety lever. The grips are brown plastic with course checkering. The magazine has a nickel body with aluminum base numbered to the gun. The top of the chamber is marked "S" and the toggle is roll-engraved with the Krieghoff "H/ANCHOR/K" logo above "SUHL". "GESICHERT" is stamped in the upper safety position and the left side of the extractor is marked: "GELEDEN". The full serial number is stamped on the front of the frame and on the left side of the receiver. The partial serial number, "67" is visible on most of the small components. The droop wing "eagle / 2" Luftwaffe acceptance stamps and parts stamp are located on the bottom of the barrel, right side of the receiver and on the aluminum magazine bottom. The parts stamp is also on the left side of the toggle. The holster is complete with a loading tool/screw-driver stamped with the Luftwaffe acceptance mark. The black cow-hide holster has no visible marker's marks on the back. The Luftwaffe Krieghoff acceptance mark is stamped on the inside of the holster. Luftwaffe Kreighoff P.08 pistols are scarce.

Arsenal style dip blue finish (over the original finish) with most of the finish aforementioned blue remaining with some light spotting on the grip straps. Almost all of the refinished straw colors remain. The markings are highlighted in white and remain clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent. The later production replacement Krieghoff plastic grips are excellent. The holster is very good. There is a small crack on the front where the toggle handle would rest, otherwise it shows little wear or use. The belt loops have been re-sewn. The remaining stitching is tight.
