Dated 1938 on the chamber and marked "S/42" on the toggle. Salt finish with almost black "blue" on all parts. Marked with "eagle/63" proofs on right side of receiver, left upper rear of the barrel and aluminum base of magazine. The droop wing eagle proof is on the left side of the breechblock and the right side of the barrel and receiver. All visible numbers match. The magazines have been renumbered to match the gun. One magazine is marked "2905 / r" and the other "2905/s". "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively marked safety and extractor. The back strap is cut for a stock and the pistol is fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Excellent. The pistol retains approximately 95% of the original finish with wear on the muzzle, sideplate hump edges and high spots with slight thinning on the grip straps. There is minor flaking and minor pin prick type pitting on the right rear of the frame. The grips are excellent with a few very minor dings and nicks, and sharp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically very good.
