This rifle was part of an order by Imperial Russia for 293,816 rifles delivered between 1915 and 1916, with this example made in 1916. The rifle features a two piece clip guide attached to the receiver, military rear sight, and bayonet lug on the front barrel band. The upper receiver tang is marked with the model designation, the Winchester trade mark and patent markings in three lines. The left side of the receiver bears the factory address and 1895-1907 patent dates in three lines. The top of the receiver is stamped with a Winchester oval proof mark above the caliber: "7.62 / M.M." Russian cartouches are stamped on the right side of the receiver and buttstock. Smooth straight grip stock with two barrel bands, 1/3 length upper handguard, forearm grasping grooves, sling swivel, and a military buttplate with trapdoor compartment. Cleaning kit and takedown tool included.

Fine. The barrel retains approximately 80% of the original blue finish with moderate pitting near the rear barrel band and the muzzle. The barrel bands have a brown patina with some moderate pitting. There is a mottled gray patina on the buttplate with some minor surface rust. The rest of the metal surfaces retain approximately 30% of the blue finish mixed with smooth brown/gray patina. The stock and forearm are in very good condition with moderate handling wear. The metal and stock markings are clear. A solid example of a Winchester Model 1895 Russian model musket.
