Description:

Marked "-MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO.- / NEW HAVEN . CONN. U.S.A. PAT. OCT. 10. 93. JAN. 30. 94. OCT. 8. 95." on the left side of the receiver. The chamber is marked "-U.S.N.- / anchor / No3499 / -N.C.T.-". The left side of the trigger guard is marked with a star and the letter "J". Rifles were manufactured from 1895 to 1902 and saw service in Cuba during the Spanish-American War. Six hundred of them were issued to the 1st Marine Battalion who were the first U.S. troops to invade Cuba. The rifle is blued with an oil finished walnut stock and handguard.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The metal surfaces have a dark patina, with some pin point pitting. There are a few minor scratches overall and a few streaks of gray near the muzzle. The stock and handguard are good with some moderate handling wear. The rear sling swivel is missing. The markings are clear and crisp.
