Description:

Manufactured in mid 1945 and the last block of contract 1911-A1's manufactured by Colt. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line, two block patent dates and address with the Rampant Colt in the center and the "P" marking on top ahead of the rear sight. The left side of the frame is marked with "G.H.D." inspection mark just below the slide stop and "P" below the magazine release. The left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY / No 2301604" behind the slide stop hole and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" ahead of the hole. The crossed cannon cartouche is marked behind the right upper grip panel. The blue Colt contract barrel is marked with a "B" in front of the lug and "P" and a boxed "C" on the left and right side respectively. The top of the frame in front of the hammer is marked "2". It has the serrated arched main spring housing and slide stop, checkered narrow hammer spur, trigger, magazine release and thumb safety. Blue magazine marked "S" on the toe, lanyard ring on the heel and fitted with brown plastic checkered grips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus. The pistol retains 99% original finish with some very minor wear on the high edges of the slide and front edge of the frame. The grips are excellent with only a few very minor nicks and sharp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
