This Frontier Scout commemorates the driving of the last spike and the meeting of the engines on May 10, 1869, at Promontory Point, Utah. Ejector mechanism, fluted cylinder, screws, Colt grip medallions, trigger, and hammer are gold-plated. Right side of barrel is engraved and gold-filled "1869- GOLDEN SPIKE- 1969.". The butt is scroll engraved. Comes in brown plastic commemorative case with dedication on inside lid. Emerald velvet lining. Includes commemorative gold plated railroad spike. Also includes a booklet about the joining of the railroad and a brief history of the railroad.

Fixed blade front sight and smooth grips with Colt medallions. Marked "1871 NRA Centennial 1971" on the left barrel. Complete with a wooden Colt case with a double sided NRA centennial medallion lid insert and lined with gold colored velvet. Case key and manual are also included.
