This Spanish shotgun features a single brass bead sight on the concave solid rib. The rib and barrels toward the breech have platinum inlaid vine designs as well as around the breech end of the barrels. The left barrel is platinum inlaid "DE HERRADURAS", the rib "POR YGNACIO ALBERDI EN EIBAR" and the right barrel "ANO DE 1856". The hammers, locks and trigger guard are lightly scroll engraved. The stock is checkered in the wrist with carved extension, cheekpiece, floral design carving behind the cheekpiece, wooden ramrod, sling swivels and cupped iron buttplate with compartment.
Very good. The barrels have a smooth brown patina. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth gray patina. The platinum inlays remain intact and are crisp. The stock is very good overall with a small repair on the left side under the comb. The wood has a hand rubbed patina and the checkering remains crisp. The action is fine. Purchases from Steve Sheppard at the Cody Gun Show in 1993 and from the Will Hoffeld Collection.
