Active from 1837 into the 20th Century as an arms producer, and remaining active as an auction house today, Carl Stiegele produced high quality rifles and shotguns for the Bavarian Royal Court and had clientele around the world. Single nickel bead on the matte rib, with gold bands at the breech and "C. STIEGELE KGL. BAYR. HOFGEWEHRFABRIK MUNCHEN" inlaid on the rib and "EXCELSIOR/ WITTEN" on the sides. Scroll engraved action, with floral bouquet on the underside, tang safety with gold inlayed "S", double triggers and a horn trigger guard. Checkered pistol grip stock with a horn fitted Schnabel tip forearm, engraved furniture, sling swivels and a serrated butt.

Excellent, with 90% of the original blue finish, showing a few small areas of light brown and gray patina on the sides, mild scratching concentrated on the right side, and some light spotting and handling marks overall. A light gray patina has formed on the frame, with vivid original color around the triggers and in the protected areas. Stock is excellent, with a thin chip absent from the right side of the forearm and a few mild pressure dents overall.
