Produced after 1883, the advent of the British rifle trials, and at some point professionally converted to 410 gauge. Single nickel bead, with the top flat of the barrel matte serrated ahead of the breech, "HOLLAND & HOLLAND Ltd 98 NEW BOND St LONDON" marked on the upper left flat and "WINNERS OF ALL THE FIELD RIFLE TRAILS. 250.SEMI SMOOTH BORE" on the upper left. The frame is Birmingham proofed, with a wide checkered side lever, rebounding checkered hammer, blue upper tang and trigger guard, engraved borders and scroll accents. Checkered pistol grip stock, with horn forearm tip, engraved metal grip cap, initial shield on the underside and a serrated butt.

Professionally refinished and converted. 98% of the current blue is visible on the barrel, with some mild pitting and handling marks. A few areas of brown patina are visible on the rear of the barrel around the ejector, the front of the trigger guard and on the upper tang. The start of a silver patina is present on the underside of the frame, with bright and vivid case colors overall. Stock is very good, with scattered pressure dents and fine varnish. Mechanically excellent.
