Description:

Manufactured in 1934. These models are similar in size and weight as the Detective Special pistols but they have a smaller frame and cylinder. They were designed to be easily concealed and light weight so as not to restrict the work of the employee. They were specifically designed with bank and Postal employees in mind. The U.S. Postal Service also issued considerable numbers of these to their railway mail clerks. The left side of the barrel is marked "22 BANKERS / SPECIAL", and the right side has the two line Colt address/patent markings. The left side plate has the Rampant Colt. It has a fixed front sight blade with the notched rear sight. It has the all blued finish with the sides of the hammer being polished. The checkered grips have Colt silver medallions on a round grip frame.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains approximately 97% of the original blue finish with some minor flaking, some minor muzzle wear and the finish beginning to thin on the backstrap. There is some pin point pitting mostly on the cylinder. The trigger guard has a minor dent. There is a large dent on the left grip panel, otherwise the grips are excellent with a few minor nicks and dings. The checkering is very good plus. The markings are crisp.
