Produced in 1950. Adjustable Patridge blade front and notch rear sights. Left side of barrel marked "+OFFICERS MODEL 38+ / +HEAVY BARREL+" with two line patent and address markings on the top. The frame is flat topped, with the standard Rampant Colt marking on the left side. Checkered hammer with polished sides, checkered trigger and backstrap. The grips are checkered with Colt medallions. With a Colt black box, properly hand numbered to the gun, with the blue Officer's Model label on the body and the white lid label marked "TARGET" and "HEAVY BARREL/ PATRIDGE SIGHT". Properly marked on the inside, with the "Shooting Instructions" pamphlet.

Excellent plus, with 99% of the bright original blue finish overall, showing a few minor handling marks and an extremely minor rub spot on trigger guard and muzzle. Grips are excellent, with a few minor pressure dents. Box is very good, with some mild wear concentrated on the edges and minimal foxing and tearing of the labels. Mechanically excellent.
