Description:

Produced between 1864 and 1870, the majority of Moore's revolvers were finished in blue and silver, with an unknown very limited quantity done in full silver. The cylinder is marked "D. WILLIAMSON'S PATENT JANUARY 5, 1864", with light scroll and radiating burst decoration on the barrel. A full coverage woodland scene has been executed on the cylinder, using a combination of acid etching and engraving to depict a stag being pursued through the woods by a dog and a hunter on horseback. Through the combination of methods, the artist has accomplished a sense of depth and level of detail that either technique alone would be hard pressed to replicate. Factory scroll and punch dot engraving is present on the frame, with a checkered hammer and smooth trigger. Smooth bird's head grips. In a hardwood locking case with purple velvet lining and a cartridge block holding a full 50 rounds.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus, with 99% of the superb original silver finish, with a few tiny hints on brass visible on the frame, minimal handling marks, and an attractive dark color overall. Grips are excellent, with a small amount of varnish loss. The case is very fine, with some small pressure dents and minor wear on the original velvet. Mechanically excellent.
