The frame and hammer are casehardened and the remaining surfaces are blue. The serial number is stamped on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap, with the assembly number "345" on the loading gate. Fitted with checkered grips with a molded Rampant Colt in an oval at the top of each panel. Both grips are marked "XXX" on the back. Complete with factory letter confirming configuration and stating this revolver was shipped to Marshall Wells Hardware Company, Billings, Montana on June 16, 1902.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel retains approximately 40% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina and some mild pitting at the muzzle. The cylinder, trigger guard and backstrap retain about 20% blue with the balance a smooth bright gray patina. The frame and hammer retain traces of case color patterns in the protected areas mixed with a smooth gray patina. There are 5 minor notches on the right grip, otherwise the grips are very good with some scattered light handling marks and the checkering beginning to wear smooth. The markings are clear. Mechanically fine.
