Adopted in 1939, the Foreign Ministry received two versions of what is effectively the same dagger, as the diplomats who worked with allies and neutral nations were considered distinct from the administrators who moved in behind the Wehrmacht to take over occupied lands, which were no longer regarded as foreign countries but possessions of the Reich. 10 1/4 inch spear point blade with Eickhorn makers marks on the left side. The hilt and pommel are gold washed, with a Nazi eagle on the guard looking left, simulated mother of pearl grips and eagle head pommel. Gold washed sheath, with pebbled sides, oak leaf bands and hanging rings. Also included is an enamel button for the "Ring fur Deutsch-Britisch Freundschaft", a Pre-WWII German/ British fascist organization.

Very fine, with mild spotting, light flaking of the gold, and a small crack on the right panel of the grip.
