This excellent example of a Mauser Luger is dated 1940 on top of the chamber and marked "42" on the toggle. Two "eagle/ 655" proofs and the "eagle/ swastika" firing proof appear on the right side of the barrel extension with an "eagle/ 655" on the left side of the barrel and "eagle/ swastika" on the right side of barrel and the left side of the breechblock. Matching full serial number on the barrel extension and frame, with the partial serial number on the side plate, extractor, both toggle links, and lock bolt. Blue finished small parts, checkered wood grips, and blue magazine with correct matching serialized aluminum base. Complete with a leather holster marked "eue/40" and an "eagle/WaA300" proof over a hand marked "W.S." The inside of the flap is marked in pencil "1734" and "CURLEY / D". The holster contains a combination tool and a second matching magazine.

Excellent. The pistol retains approximately 97% original blue finish with some mild thinning and spotting on the grip straps and gray patina on some of the high edges. The grips are excellent with some scattered mild dings in the overall crisp checkering. The holster is fine with some minor handling marks and minor wear on the flap. The stitching is tight. An exceptional, early 1940 P.08 rig with two matching magazines.
