Dated 1917 on the chamber, with the "DWM" monogram on the toggle. Fitted with the distinctive blade front and tangent rear sights, numbered "56" on the rear base but otherwise matching, with fine adjustment screw. Three "crown/ gothic letter" proofs are on the right side of the chamber next to the Imperial Eagle firing proof, which is repeated on the barrel and breechblock. In addition, Birmingham "crown/BNP" proofs have been stamped on top of the toggle block, the left side of the chamber, frame rail and barrel, with caliber and tonnage markings added to the underside of the barrel. Matching full serial numbers on the barrel, frame and barrel extension, with matching partial numbers on the extractor, toggles, locking bar, side plate and safety components. Proper "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" marked upper safety position and extractor, with stock lug on the backstrap.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with approximately 95% of the original blue, thinning slightly on the barrel, worn bright on the high edges, with spotting on the grip straps and scattered handling marks. Straw is original, and 70%. Grips are very fine, with some light pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
