The Model 21 was Winchester's finest effort with regard to quality, reliability and strength. Developed in the 1920's the introduction of this fine side-by-side shotgun was delayed by the company's financial troubles. The Model 21 got the attention it richly deserved when Winchester was purchased by the Olin family. Despite being offered as a production gun, actually it was a hand built custom made shotgun. From 1931 to 1959 it was considered a production line gun and about 30,000 were sold. This shotgun features a single bead sight on the concave matte rib. The left barrel is marked "MODEL 21- WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK - 12 GAUGE 3 IN". The barrels feature 3 inch chambers and choked modified/improved cylinder with ejectors. Single trigger with barrel selector on the trigger and automatic tang safety. Checkered beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock with a solid Winchester recoil pad. Length of pull is approximately 14 inches.

Very fine. The barrels retain over 90% thinning original blue finish, a few streaks of gray and a few minor scratches. The action retains approximately 95% blue finish with limited gray on the high edges. The trigger guard is refinished. The wood is fine with some minor dings and scratches mostly on the buttstock, along with limited minor bubbling on the right side of the buttstock. Recoil pad has a minor storage indentation. The checkering is crisp.
