This is a very nice example of a custom built sporting rifle made by the Niedner Rifle Company, built on a U.S. Springfield Model 1903 receiver. The rifle has a matte blue finish on top, single brass bead blade ramp front sight and a hand tooled matte finish bolt. The top of the barrel is marked "NIEDNER RIFLE CORP DOWAGIAC, MICH" and ".30-06" on the left rear barrel flat. Equipped with a Lyman "ALASKAN" 2 1/2 power "ALL-WEATHER" scope with Griffin & Howe mounts. Serrated trigger, trigger safety with floral engraved trigger guard and floor plate. Complete with Schnabel tip fancy English walnut checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate, floral steel grip cap, cheekpiece, sling swivels and leather sling.

Excellent as customized, with approximately 98% of the blue finish overall. The barrel has an old professional rerust blue finish. The wood is excellent with approximately 98% of the original finish with light pressure nicks on the stock. The scope is very good with light scratches and minor spotting. Clear optics.
