Part of Colt's May-June 1916 production, a set of 1000 pistols that used serial numbers, and possibly parts, from Springfield's 1915 range. These pistols present something of a mystery, as Colt's ledger notes list the pistols in this range as having been made at the Springfield Arsenal, while Springfield's records show a stop in production before these numbers were reached, which happened a year after these pistols were produced. Fixed sights, with the two line, two block markings on the left side of the slide, Rampant Colt behind the serrations, "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" and "COLT AUTOMATIC/ CALIBRE 45" on the right side. The frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the left side, "H" next to the disconnector and has no other inspectors marks (proper). Wide hammer, long smooth trigger, short grip safety, checkered slide stop, thumb safety, smooth mainspring housing, checkered walnut grips with diamond patterns around the screws and a Flannery Bolt Company barrel.

Excellent, with 90% of the original blue finish, showing a mixed brown and gray patina on the grip straps, mild edge wear and scattered handling marks. Grips are excellent, with sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
