Little MFG. Co.) on the inside of the lip. The left side of the slide is roll-stamped: "ITHACA GUN CO.,INC./ITHACA.N.Y." in two lines. A "P" proofmark is stamped on the top of the slide ahead of the rear sight. The left side of the frame is stamped with the Ordnance Inspector's initials "FJ" below the slide stop cut-out and a "P" below the magazine release. The Ordnance Corps escutcheon is stamped on the right side of the slide behind the stock. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY/No 86604*" is stamped in two lines behind the slide stop hole and "M 1911 A1 U.S.ARMY" is stamped in a single line in front of it. Documents with the pistol state that it was the property of COL. Edwin Perkins, USAF (Ret.). During WWII COL. Perkins was assigned to the 1st Air Wing of the 8th Air Force.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains nearly 97% of the original gray parkerized finish and nearly 99% of the blue finish on the "HS" barrel. Wear is limited to some very minor storage marks. The Keyes Fibre stocks are in excellent condition and the magazine retains nearly all of the blue finish. All of the components appear to be original to the pistol. The markings on the slide and frame are crisp. This is an excellent example of an 8th Air Force issued, U.S. Ithaca Model 1911A1 Pistol.
