Description:

This is a nice example of an early WWII US Army model 1903A4 sniper rifle that is complete with the late production Weaver M73B1 scope. This rifle has the correct offset marking on the receiver, the left side is marked "U.S. / REMINGTON / MODEL 03-A3" and the right has serial number 3411939. The barrel is marked "RA / ordnance bomb / 5-43" near the muzzle. It has the correct stamped barrel bands, trigger guard, and butt plate along with the original turned down sniper bolt that has the small "R" markings on the underside. It has a late war scant grip stock, that is marked with a "AA" cartouche on the left side, indicating that it was rebuilt at Augusta Arsenal. It has a set of parkerized scope rings with the correct squared end scope base that is marked "REDFIELD" on the right rear side. The telescope is the correct late WWII Weaver M73B1 model that is correctly marked on the identification plate and the right side of the tube is marked "SERIAL NO 25824". The rifle has an all green GI style parkerized finish on all of the parts. It has an oil finished stock and hand guard.

Rating Definition:

Arsenal refurbished overall with 99% of the parkerized finish with no appreciable wear. The stock and hand guard are both in fine refurbished condition with a clear cartouche on the left side with minimal handling marks, showing sanding in the pistol grip area, the sides of the butt stock and around the actual butt plate. The scope has 97% of the original blue showing some minor wear on the underside of the tube with a couple of small pin-prick pits on top of the scope tube. The optics are clear with no specs, but the cross hair needs adjustment.
