Blade front and early arched rear sights, with the two line, two block Colt patents and address on the left side of the slide with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations and "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" on the right. Frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the left side, with the serial number on the right and Penfield's "WGP" monogram over the magazine catch. Fitted with the long trigger, wide checkered hammer, short grip safety, checkered slide stop and thumb safety and flat mainspring housing with lanyard staple. Checkered hardwood grips with diamond patterns around the screws, two tone magazine with "A" stamp and "S" stamped on the underside of the otherwise unmarked barrel.

Rating Definition:

Refinished/ remarked, with 40% of the aforementioned blue finish, showing a pattern of scattered bright spots, concentrated on the slide and the right side of the frame, with areas of brown patina on the slide and the right side of the trigger guard, gray on the grip straps and mild handling marks. Most of the markings have been professionally sharpened and are currently very legible. Grips are good, with pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
