This is a mid-war production M1911A1 pistol as manufactured by the Remington-Rand company in 1943. The left side of the slide is marked "REMINGTON RAND INC./ SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A." along with a "P" proof on top in front of the rear sight. The right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over the serial number, and in front of the slide stop hole it is marked "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" and the left side is marked with "FJA" proof of Lt. Col. Frank Atwood with a "P" proof by the magazine release button. Crossed cannon proof on the right rear of the frame. The hammer is the later narrow version with the later long horn grip safety. Complete with one unmarked blue magazine.

Excellent. The pistol retains approximately 95% parkerized finish overall. The slide and frame show only minor high point edge wear and some scattered handling marks throughout. The barrel is a "Colt 45 Auto" marked replacement. The grips are excellent. Mechanically excellent.
