Description:

This rifle has a blade front sight and an adjustable rear sight on a rifled barrel marked "LS DESTRAZ A MOUDON". The right side of the barrel has a bayonet lug. The upper left barrel flat is stamped with a "P" in a shield at the breech and "1841" is marked in gold on the breech plug. Double set triggers with a hinged blue finished trigger guard with spur. Mounted on a smooth full length straight grip stock with three barrel wedges with German silver escutcheons, horn forend cap, sling swivels, iron Swiss style buttplate, wooden palm rest and ebony ramrod with horn tip. The underside of the forearm has a blue finished reinforcing plate

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains approximately 70% thinning original brown finish with some scattered pin point pitting. The buttplate, hammer, breech plug and lock plate have a smooth gray patina, with a small patch of deep pitting on the buttplate. The trigger guard and forearm plate retain approximately 70% faded original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina with some mild pitting. The stock is fine with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
