Late production Type I, or Model Number 2, with the manual extractor and marked "E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y. / ELLIOTS PATENT DEC. 12TH 1865" (two line address) on top of the barrel rib. The hammer, extractor, trigger and screws are blue, the frame, and barrels nickel. The serial number on the barrel has been overstamped (possibly factory error). The derringer is fitted with smooth grips

Period replated. The derringer retains approximately 85% frosted nickel finish with some minor flaking. The grips are fine with some minor dings and scratches mostly concentrated on the right panel. Mechanically fine.
