This is an example of a modern custom embellished Remington Number One Vest Pocket Pistol with a fantasy gambler's box and accessories. Beginning in 1863, the San Francisco based Will & Finck manufactured and sold knives and later gambling equipment. Before closing in 1932, Will & Fink gained the reputation of producing quality cutlery. Knives manufactured by this famed company are highly collectible in today's market. This pistol is spuriously stamped "WILL & FINK / S F CAL" on the top of the barrel. The sides of the frame feature a custom scroll engraving on a punch dot background. Matching serial number on the barrel and frame under the left grip. The pistol is gold plated. Post front sight, frame notch rear sight and fitted with smooth hard rubber grips with gold plated screw. Complete with a leather bound wooden locking gambler's box with key and metal recessed carrying handle on the lid. When opened the box reveals a partitioned tray with cartridge holder and ivory dice. Under the tray is a vintage deck of playing cards and a silver pocket watch with a gold double chain. The watch face is marked "ELIGIN NATL WATCH CO" with Roman numerals showing the hours. Arabic numerals are used to mark the seconds. The watch cover has a fancy brass initial shield and is marked "WARRANTED TRADE NO1 MARK / COIN SILVER / P218" on the inside. The back cover has a brass circle insert.

Custom engraved, plated, cased and marked. The pistol retains approximately half of the modern gold plating beginning to turn a smooth dark patina. The front sight has been reattached. The grips are good with some minor scratches. The engraving and spurious markings are clear and crisp. The custom box is a fantasy creation with some scattered minor scuff marks and some mild leather loss. The accessories are very fine, including the watch that has some mild scratches. A conversation piece at best.
