Also known as the Saw Handle Deringer, manufactured between 1865 and 1888. The top of the barrel is marked "REMINGTON'S ILION, N.Y. / PATENT OCT. 1, 1861" (with the "R" worn off). Matching serial number on the left side of the frame under the grip and on the barrel. The sides of the frame feature a floral scroll engraving, with wedges of the engraving on top of the barrel before the address marking and on both sides at the muzzle, butt and backstrap. Gold washed screws, hammer and trigger with the remaining surfaces nickel. Post front sight, frame notch rear sight and fitted with plain ivory grips.

Rating Definition:

Period replated. The pistol retains approximately 97% silver finish with some mild frost on the barrel and grip straps and a few minor patches of flaking. The screws, trigger and hammer retain most of the gold wash. The replacement grips are fine with the exception of a hairline crack on the left panel and limited very light handling marks. The engraving is clear and crisp.
