The hammer has also been engraved and features the distinct wolf's head. "COLTS/ PATENT" is engraved on the left side of the frame flanked by the engraving. The left side of the trigger bow is stamped with a "V" and also "36 CAL". Fine. The barrel shows 20% of the original blue finish all in protected areas, the balance is now a mottled gray patina with some dark spotting and light overall handling marks. The cylinder is now an even satin gray patina with handling marks and spotting. The frame has 40% casecolors with the balance an aged darkened mottled patina. The grip strap retains traces of original silver plating which has silvered out dark. The grips are excellent displaying slight pressure marks.
