This is an example of a 1943 dated 98K sniper rifle as manufactured by Mauser with a ZF41 scope. The top of the receiver is marked with an "eagle / 135" proof over "byf / 43", with an additional "eagle/135" on the right side and an eagle firing along with the serial number on the left side. The left receiver wall is marked "Mod. 98.", the floor plate is unmarked and "mub" is marked on the assembly. The scope is a ZF41 marked "cxn". The rifle retains the tangent rear sight and hooded inverted "V" front sight. Most of the numbers match. Complete with cleaning rod, leather sling and scope case marked "jvb". The laminated stock has the buttstock disk and no visible markings.

Very good. The rifle retains approximately 80% possibly arsenal or importer refinished blue finish with even pin point pitting on the receiver and bolt. The barrel bands have been cleaned bright. The stock is fine with a couple minor gouges and some minor dings and scratches. The optics need work, with broken crosshairs. Mechanically excellent.
