Description:

This is an excellent example of a Nazi Germany cavalry officer's service visor cap with peak front profile. This field gray wool visor cap has a dark green band and a black lacquered visor with silver chin chord and yellow cavalry piping. A bullion cockade with silver wreath appears on the velvet band and an aluminum eagle/swastika appears above the cockade. The interior is lined with gold fabric and has a brown celluloid sweat band. The interior also has the faint marking "Deutsche / Arbeit" and the hand written label "War gerhaher, obes."

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The peak profile is slightly weak, but the visor cap remains solid. The wool shows limited wear with a few moth holes. The piping is excellent with the exception of very limited material loss near a chin chord button. The chin cord and bullion insignia show limited wear. The sweat band has some mild aged cracking and a some mild stains, but is complete.
