This is a very nice example of a highly desirable and scarce early "ac/ 40", P-38. The left side of the slide is marked "P.38 ac/40" with the serial number, and the right side has the "eagle/ swastika" firing proof flanked by "WaA 359" proofs. In addition to the "AC/40" code on the slide, this one also has the "AC" on the left side of the trigger guard. The underside of the barrel lug is marked "ac", and "5" on the left side of the locking block, in addition to the standard markings. "WaA359" Waffenamt stamp on all major parts and some of the small ones. The grips are brown bakelite plastic, and the magazine is marked "P.38V".

Excellent, with approximately 80% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish, showing some mild edge wear, a gray patina concentrated on the grip strap, and scattered light handling marks. Grips are excellent, with very few handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
