Description:

This shotgun features a single bead front sight on a concave solid rib marked "WILLIAM W. KAYE. PHILADELPHLA LAMINATED STEEL". Scroll engraved hammers and lock plates. The lock plate also features an engraved border and are marked "W.W. KAYE. PHILa". The scroll work extends to the buttplate heel, tangs and trigger guard (with border). Gold presentation plate period inscribed "H.A. BOWER / Phila" is located on top of the wrist. The trigger guard rotates to the right to allow removal of detachable triggers. Double triggers and fish sculpted hammers. Half length stock with fine checkering on the wrist with iron buttplate, single barrel wedge and brass tipped wooden ramrod.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The shotgun has a smooth brown patina with some scatter minor pitting heavier on the buttplate. The reoiled stock is fine with a few barely noticeable period filled repairs (mostly on the stock plates) and some minor dings and scratches, along with a few minor bruises in the overall crisp checkering.
