The Model 21 was Winchester's finest effort with regard to quality, reliability and strength. Developed in the 1920's the introduction of this fine side-by-side shotgun was delayed by the company's financial troubles. The Model 21 got the attention it richly deserved when Winchester was purchased by the Olin family. Despite being offered as a production gun, it was actually a hand built custom made shotgun. From 1931 to 1959 it was considered a production line gun and about 30,000 were sold. This shotgun features a single bead sight on the concave matte rib. The left barrel is marked "WINCHESTER 12 GAUGE / 2 3/4 CHAM.". Both barrel lugs are marked with the Winchester proof and the water table is marked with the patent dates, model designation, address and Winchester proof. The barrels feature 2 3/4 inch chambers and choked modified/cylinder with ejectors. Single trigger with barrel selector on the trigger and automatic tang safety. Checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock with a black checkered Winchester buttplate.

Excellent. The shotgun retains at least 98% plus of the original blue finish with some light high edge wear on the receiver. The wood is excellent with a few minor dings and scratches with sharp and original checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
