Perhaps the best known and highest quality of all American shotgun manufacturers. Established by Charles Parker shortly after the Civil War, this company has produced a wide variety of shotguns in a number of different styles over the years. In the early 1930's the company was purchased by Remington Arms Company. This shotgun features double ivory bead sights on the matte concave solid rib marked " PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN CT. U.S.A. TITANIC STEEL.", 2-3/4 inch chambers, choked extra full/extra full with ejectors. The action is scroll engraved with hunting dogs on each side in field scenes and four pheasants in a field scene on the bottom of the action. Both sides of the action are marked "PARKER BROS." in a banner. The water table is marked with the five line Parker Bros. patent marking on the right side and "DH / serial number / 3" on the left side. The barrels, lower tang and forearm hardware having matching numbers. Double triggers, automatic tang safety and mounted with a checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock with a black plastic grip cap, silver initial oval and a rubber recoil pad. Pull is 14 3/8" with a 1 1/2" drop at the comb.

Excellent. The barrels retain 98% plus original finish with some minor thinning at the muzzle end and a few scattered minor handling marks. The rear of the trigger guard bow and tang have faded to a smooth gray patina, while the balance retains half of the bright blue original finish. The receiver retains 95% of the original vivid case colors. The forearm hardware has been cleaned to a smooth gray patina. The wood is excellent with 95% original varnish remaining and overall a few minor dings and handling marks. The recoil pad has collapsed due to heat. The markings and engraving are sharp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
