Single brass bead sight on concave matte rib marked "SIMSON, SUHL (THURINGEN)". Both barrels are marked "SPEZIAL - GEWEHRLAUFSTAHL" with 3 inch chambers, improved cylinder and modified chokes, auto ejectors, nitro proofed on the underside and scroll engraved on the chambers with punch dot borders at the breech. Extensive engraving on the once casehardened frame, with fine scrollwork on the underside of the frame, floral pattern screws and front scroll border on the sides. The left side of the frame features two deer and a partridge running in a field scene, four ducks in a marsh scene on the right and a pheasant in a field scene on the underside. Blue scroll engraved trigger guard and blue engraved break lever and forearm release. Cocking indicators on the side plates of the frame. Pistol grip stock with checkered forearm and grip area, black plastic grip cap, double triggers, tang safety, sling swivels, raised cheekpiece and Simson plastic buttplate.

Excellent. The shotgun retains approximately 99% of the original blue finish with some light scratches, some streaks of gray near the muzzles and a smooth brown patina on the underside of the rib. The case color on the frame has faded to an even satin finish. The wood is very good with some minor dings and scratches. There are some moderate scratches and dents near the upper tang and on the forearm near the frame. The very good checkering has some minor dings. The markings are clear. The engraving is clear and crisp.
