Features a single nickel bead sight on the solid matte rib with 2 3/4" chambers, choked improved modified/modified and ejectors. The barrels are marked "J.P. SAUER & SOHN" with "KRUPP-ESSEN." at the breech. The underside of the barrel are marked with various German proofs and the water table is marked "MADE IN PRUSSIA". The scalloped receiver is floral scroll engraved with oak leaf patterns and "J.P. SAUER & SOHN" is marked on each side in a banner. In addition to the oak leaf pattern each side features a game scene with upland birds on the left, ducks on the right and a pair of hunting dogs on the bottom. The fences and trigger guard feature the same oak leaf pattern with game birds also appearing on the trigger guard. Tang mounted automatic safety and double triggers. Multi point checkered splinter forearm with a horn tip insert and pistol grip stock with a checkered flats, gold initial oval, metal grip cap and leather covered, rubber recoil pad.

Very good as partially refinished. The barrels have been re-blued and show some covered over pitting scattered overall with about 90% of the new blue finish. The receiver has aged to a smooth gray with traces of the original case colors still visible in protected areas. All markings and the engraving is crisp. The wood is very fine with some thinning of the finish at the wrist, some worn checkering and a few dings and scratches overall. The initial oval is marked with the initials "JL" in script while the leather covered recoil pad is excellent with a few areas of light wear. Mechanically excellent.
