The barrel is fitted with a globe front sight and bayonet lug connected to a flash hider. The rear of the receiver is marked with "US RIFLE / 7.62-mm M1A / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY [circled T]" over the serial number. Standard weight commercial barrel with some commercial parts. Smooth pistol grip stock with the boxed Department of Defense cartouche on the left wrist, fiberglass handguard and the stock is fitted with a checkered metal buttplate with trap and flip-up cover. Complete with an unmarked leather sling with an aluminum Al Freeland keeper.

Excellent. The rifle retains 95% original finish with thinning on the barrel and wear on the right side of the receiver from normal use. The stock is excellent showing only a couple of very minor dings and light handling marks overall. The magazine is missing. The sling is good showing some age cracking, minor wear and tight stitching. The action is excellent.
