This is an excellent example of a Remington Model 11 Riot Shotgun with military blue finish, plain receiver and oil-finished walnut stock and forend with no checkering or grasping groove. The stock is fitted with a brown plastic buttplate with the impressed Remington trademark and horizontal serrations. The receiver does not have the engraved game scenes found on the sides of commercial and early military contract Model 11 shotguns. The bolt is bright and marked "MODEL 11". The left side is roll-stamped with "U.S." followed by the Ordnance Corps "Shell & Flame" insignia followed by "MILITARY FINISH". The Remington trademark, patent markings and the serial number are located on the lower left side of the receiver. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line Remington address and patent dates. Below the address is the legend "12 GA FOR 2 3/4 OR SHORTER SHELLS" followed by the choke "CYL", an "AM" inspection mark and a small anchor. "U.S." followed by the "Shell & Flame" insignia is stamped on top of the barrel behind the address. The lower right side of the barrel is stamped with a Remington oval "REP" proof and a factory inspection mark. The left side of the stock is stamped with the crossed cannon cartouche followed by "FJA" inspectors mark. Length of pull is 14".

Excellent. The shotgun 99% plus original blue finish with a minor scratch on top of the barrel ahead of the address and a few minor surface scratches on the left front of the receiver. The wood is excellent with only a few minor dings on the left side under the cartouche and light handling marks. Except for a weak stamp on the cross cannon cartouche, all markings are sharp and clear. Mechanically excellent. This Remington U.S. contract Model 11 Riot shotgun that would be difficult to improve on.
