The top of the receiver is marked "U.S. / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY / MODEL 1903." over the serial number and the star gauged barrel is marked " S A / ordnance bomb / 5 - 25" behind the front sight. Serrated and checkered trigger, "MARBLE" blade ramp front sight and Lyman adjustable rear peep sight. Fitted with a sanded and refinished pistol grip sporter stock with two reinforcing bolts service rifle style, checkered metal buttplate with compartment and sling swivels.

Fine as partially refinished, with approximately 70% of the faded original blue finish with light spotting on the barrel. The floor plate and trigger guard are beginning to age to a grayish patina with minor scratches. The rifle serial number has been remarked on top of the bolt. The stock is heavily sanded and revarnished. Faint marking of a person's name stenciled on the right side of the stock. Mechanically excellent.
