This is an example of a post war M1 Garand as manufactured by Springfield Armory. The barrel is marked "SA F6535448", "12-58", "M unreadable 68 defense stamp". There is also a large "T", "Z" and "P" on the right side of the barrel. The trigger assembly is marked "6528290 -SA", the receiver leg "A47B / F 6528291" and the op rod is marked "8535382 SA". The rear of the receiver has the standard four line marking over the serial number. The rifle is fitted with a bayonet lug and stacking swivel. The stock is marked with a circled "P" in the grip area, the buttplate is checkered steel with compartment and there is a green canvas military sling which is marked with a crude white painted "1" on the clasp.

Excellent. The rifle retains 97% of the original dark green parkerized finish with some wear on the muzzle and high edges. The stock is very good with a few minor pressure dents, dings and scratches. The sling is very good. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
