Description:

Manufactured on government contract for the U.S. Air Force and designated the Model 13 Aircrewman. The revolvers were intended for use by flight crews as survival weapons in the event of an emergency. The model was rejected in 1954 and most were destroyed by the government. It is equipped with a 2 inch barrel and an alloy cylinder (cylinder numbered "260578"). Top of the frame is marked "REVOLVER, LIGHT WEIGHT, M13". There is a small "P" proof on the left side of the frame with a S&W trade mark logo on the right. Grips are checkered Pachmayr wrap-around replacements.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The frame retains 80% of the original black anodized finish with edge wear, dings and some flaking of the finish scattered on the overall. The back strap has been ground down and drilled through then filled. The cylinder shows 90% original anodized finish with a moderate drag line and flaking. The blue barrel shows 90% of the original finish with some thinning at the muzzle and some dings. The grips are excellent as replaced with a few light handling marks.
