The included Colt factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, 3" long barrel, matte black finish and checkered rubber wraparound finger groove grips with gold plated Rampant Colt medallions. The letter states that the revolver was a sample and display revolver including lesser cost and grade, finish and polish, kept by the Colt factory. The left side of the barrel is marked "POLICE POSITIVE / 38 SPECIAL CTG" and the small two line Hartford address on the right side. Included is an orange cylinder disk.

Excellent, retaining approximately 95% of the matte black finish with minor thinning on the barrel, a strong cylinder drag line, some light edge wear, along with some scattered minor pitting. The grips are near new with only the slightest handling marks.
