This is a Colt experimental prototype semi-automatic pistol with a design similar to that of the Woodsman. The included factory letter confirms the serial number, 6 inch long barrel stamped with maker marking ("COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. COL. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.", left side), blue finished barrel with frame left in the white, top strap with integral rear sight and without slide lock or hammer safety, with checkered and painted plastic grips (currently without grips). The letter also confirms that the pistol was an experimental prototype kept by the Colt factory. The right side of the frame is stamped with the serial number and "EXP / CXV" is stamped on the left side. Fitted with a factory modified Colt magazine. Included is a Colt brown hinge lid box

Very fine. The barrel retains approximately 97% original blue finish with some minor thinning and some minor scratches. The unfinished, in-the-white frame has a mixture of bright and smooth light brown patina with some minor scratches. The box is very good with some minor wear. The box is solid.
