Manufactured in 1940. Partridge front sight, replacement micro adjustable target rear sight, pivoting thumb safety and serrated trigger. The matte top of the barrel is marked with the standard two line address and patent information. The left side of the barrel is marked with the Match Target bull's-eye logo. "THE WOODSMAN" is marked on the left side of the frame and "COLT AUTOMATIC / CAL..22 LONG RIFLE" along with the Rampant Colt. Checkered one piece "elephant ear" grip with Colt medallions. The two-tone magazine is marked "COLT WOODSMAN / CAL 22 L.R./ MATCH TARGET MOD." on the floor plate.

Excellent metal, refinished grip. The pistol retains approximately 95% excellent original blue finish with some gray forming on the high edges and the beginnings of a gray patina on the backstrap. The otherwise very good grips are crudely recheckered with a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
