Manufactured circa 1867 to 1888. The upper tang has traces of the three line address/patent date marking remain. The right barrel flat is marked with a "P", the left side flat is marked "RPB" and the left side of the receiver is marked "S". The left side of the barrel bands are marked with single letter inspection markings. Square post/blade front sight, bayonet lug and original Remington military adjustable rear sight marked "1 2 3 4" on the left side and graduated to 1,000 yards. Mounted with a straight grip stock with three barrel bands, a steel end cap and steel crescent buttplate. The left side of the wrist is marked with three cartouches and the right side has one cartouche, with "7 / H" stamped near the buttplate heel that is marked "H / 7".

Very good. The rifle some sporadic traces of original blue finish with a smooth brown patina, along with some scattered minor pitting. The wood is fine with some minor pressure dents minor dings and scratches, along with a few missing chips and sharp cartouches.
